The Path to Knowledge

On the basis of the Blagoveshchensk City Clinical Hospital, an in-hospital clinical conference was held, prepared by Professor of the Department Naryshkina Svetlana Vladimirovna, Associate Professor of the Department Tanchenko Olga Anatolyevna, residents of the Department in the specialty 31.08.53 Endocrinology on the topic "Modern approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of hyperparathyroidism". The main target organs that are affected in hyperparathyroidism due to excessive secretion of parathyroid hormone and hypercalcemia are the musculoskeletal, urinary systems, and the gastrointestinal tract. A direct relationship was found between the levels of parathyroid hormone and calcium and an increase in morbidity and mortality from cardiovascular pathology. Professor of the Department Naryshkina S.V. addressed the participants of the conference with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of an in-depth study of this comorbid topic for activating the clinical thinking of current and future doctors, understanding a personalized approach to the timely diagnosis and treatment of hyperparathyroidism. The program of the in-hospital clinical conference included several substantive blocks. A clinical case of this disease was presented by clinical resident Shevchuk A.A. Askhatkhuzina V.E. In conditions of hyperproduction of parathyroid hormone, the processes of bone resorption prevail over the processes of formation of new bone tissue and cause the development of osteoporotic changes in the bones of the spine, ranging from slight bone deformity to compression fractures. Associate Professor of the Department Tanchenko O.A. spoke in detail about modern approaches to complex therapy. Non-pharmacological methods (diet therapy, physical activity), as well as surgical and pharmacotherapeutic strategies depending on the clinical manifestations of hyperparathyroidism were considered. If a decrease in bone mineral density with the development of osteoporosis is noted in the process of dynamic observation, patients are prescribed drugs from the group of bisphosphonates with antiresorptive activity. Thus, hyperparathyroidism is a severe disabling disease. Detection of the disease in the early stages and surgical removal of parathyroid adenoma can prevent the development of osteovisceral complications. During the meeting, the participants actively asked questions, discussed complex clinical scenarios and shared their views on the management tactics of patients with concomitant pathology. Deputy Chief Physician for Medical Affairs Orlova T.S. took an active part in organizing and conducting the event. New knowledge, fresh ideas and a promising direction of the conference - all this aroused keen interest among doctors, residents, students and became an excellent motivation for professional growth. Svetlana Vladimirovna and Tatyana Sergeevna thanked all the speakers for their active position, professionalism and desire to share their experience! Together we grow, develop and make medicine better.
