Amur Medical Students Attend Screening of Film Letter at Amur Autumn Festival
As part of the educational work of the department and within the framework of the annual festival of theater and cinema "Amur Autumn", teachers of the Department of Traumatology with a course of disaster medicine Victoria Viktorovna Zaritskaya and Irina Anatolyevna Kreshchenok, together with second-year students, visited the competition film "Letter" (2026, directed by Amur Amerkhanov).
The film is directly related to the concept of Russia's national security, which is due to its deep historical and political plot, which touches on issues of internal state stability, interethnic relations and historical memory.
In the center of the plot of the film is a young surgeon-oncologist from the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic and his involvement in the fate of his people. The issues of deportation of peoples, restoration of their rights and preservation of national identity within a single state are revealed - these are fundamental elements of internal national security, on which stability in a multinational country depends.
"The film "Letter" about Ingushetia made a strong impression on us. It does not just tell about events, but immerses you in history, allows you to feel it through images, details and atmosphere. After watching, there is a feeling that you are thinking about the main thing: about memory, about roots, about the price of truth and about how important it is to preserve history," students of group 208 Yaroslav Kholmuradov, Elizaveta Lapteva, Alina Chaika and student of group 207 Elizaveta Pozdnyakova shared their impressions.
"The film made me think. I was touched by the way people tried to be heard and sought to change their lives for the better. After watching, I left a good impression. I really liked the film," said Ekaterina Potapova, a student of group 205.
"We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the recommendation to watch the film "Letter" by Amur Amerkhanov, created by the Ingush National Film Studio. For us, this viewing was not just an acquaintance with cinema, but a deep emotional and cognitive experience. The film amazed us with its honesty and depth. Through a seemingly simple plot — a journey of a group of communists with a letter to Leonid Brezhnev — the director masterfully reveals the most complex pages of the history of the Ingush people. Flashbacks dedicated to the deportations of the 1940s made a special impression. This is a difficult but necessary truth, which makes you feel more keenly the value of memory, justice and devotion to your roots. Thank you for opening up such important cultural layers for us and helping us better understand the history of our country through the prism of national cinema. This film is a real event that will remain in our memory for a long time," students of group 201 Arina Okulich, Arina Meshenchuk and students of group 202 Anastasia Minenkova, Nika Kulik, Kirill Dementyev expressed their emotions from watching.
— Watching the film "Letter" by medical students has deep practical and professional benefits. The profession of a doctor in it is represented as an absolute value, bringing the creation and preservation of life despite any destructive historical processes," says Victoria Zaritskaya.
"The analysis of such historical events teaches students to assess risks, teaches them how to behave correctly in the face of legal restrictions and emergencies," says Irina Khreshchenok, senior lecturer of the department.
After watching the film, director Amur Amerkhanov thanked the staff of the Amur State Medical Academy for their interest in his film and was photographed with students and teachers of the academy.
