Anti-terrorism awareness program for medical students

Amur State Medical Academy Hosts Anti-Terrorism Awareness Program for Medical Students

July 17, 2026

The event dedicated to the prevention of extremism and terrorism was held today at the Blagoveshchensk City Hospital. It was organized by the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases for first- and third-year students who are completing their summer practice.

"Many students will now go on vacation to different regions, and we want to remind them of the rules of behavior in emergency situations so that they know how to behave, how to provide first aid. This is very important, as it can help protect students from getting into dangerous situations and from participating in illegal activities," says Elena Magalyas, associate professor of the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases.

Students prepared four reports on topical topics related to the prevention of terrorism. In particular, they discussed the psychology of victims of terrorism, terrorism on the Internet and the propaganda of terrorism among the younger generation.

"My report is devoted to the propaganda of terrorism among young people. This is a very relevant problem in our time, and in my report I highlighted the methods and ways of recruiting young people into various terrorist and extremist organizations. We will analyze what points they are pressing to arouse interest in participating in illegal activities and, most importantly, how to resist this," said Denis Ryabov, a student of group 314.

Another topical topic discussed by the participants of the event was bioterrorism. This is the use of pathogens to infect humans, farm animals and plants. The main feature of this type of terrorism is that biological agents operate covertly. The consequences of an attack do not appear immediately, but after a few hours or days, which complicates the early detection of the source of the threat and the treatment of victims.

After listening to the reports, students watched a mini-film dedicated to the main types of terrorism and ways to counter them. More than 60 people took part in the event.
