Teachers of the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases of the Amur State Medical Academy demonstrated to future doctors a patient admitted with chest pain. An anamnesis was collected, a physical examination was performed. Further, the students witnessed a full diagnostic cycle with electrocardiography, echocardiography, coronary angiography.

In addition, the hospital surgeons installed two stents in the patient, restoring blood flow in vital arteries.

"For the guys from Heilongjiang, this was the first experience in their lives of observing such a manipulation. At their native university, students, as a rule, are forbidden to attend such operations, so what they saw caused genuine amazement and deep respect for the possibilities of modern cardiology," said the teachers of the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases.

Acquaintance with the practical side of diagnostics continued in the clinical diagnostic laboratory. Employees of the Blagoveshchensk City Clinical Hospital gave the guests a tour of the laboratory complexes, showed the structure of high-precision equipment and clearly demonstrated how clinical diagnostics doctors work. Students saw the full cycle of work: from the reception of biomaterials to the issuance of conclusions.

A separate block of the internship was devoted to risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. The teachers analyzed in detail with young colleagues how lifestyle, nutrition, stress, bad habits and heredity affect heart health. This knowledge will become the basis for the future preventive work of each of the students - after all, the prevention of a disease is often more important than its treatment.
