Round Table

The round table "Regulatory framework for specialized medical care: how to balance the rights of a doctor and a minor patient" was held today at the Amur State Medical Academy at the Department of Philosophy, History of the Fatherland and Foreign Languages. The organizers were the Head of the Department of Pediatrics, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, Doctor of the AODKB Victoria Shamraeva Victoria Shamraeva Head of the Department of Philosophy, History of the Fatherland and Foreign Languages, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor; Deputy Chairman of the Civic Chamber of the Amur Region Elena Maslova and Associate Professor of the Department of Public Health and Healthcare, Candidate of Historical Sciences Maria Ivanova.

The round table was attended by 6th year students of the Faculty of Pediatrics, employees of departments, and residents in the specialty of pediatrics. Two speakers were also invited - the head of the department for control in the field of circulation of medicines and medical devices of the Territorial Body of the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare in the Amur Region; lawyer Natalia Pigareva and Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Amur Region Irina Ptakhina.

4 reports were presented at the round table. The participants discussed many topical issues:

- What should a doctor do if patients and representatives of the child record your conversation with them on the phone?

- How to contact the emergency room doctor when a minor comes with an injury in the absence of legal representatives?

- What to do if a child who is being treated in a hospital needs urgent medical intervention and examination, and there is no consent of a legal representative for it, due to his absence, for example, living in a remote area of the region?

- What should the doctor do if the parent refuses to help the child upon admission to the emergency room and wants to leave the department; The child's condition can be regarded as life-threatening or stable.

- Does the doctor have the right to refuse to manage a particular patient in a clinic or in a hospital; More often due to the reasons of personal hostility and lack of mutual understanding?

- What responsibility can parents bear for improper care of their children and failure to follow the recommendations given by the doctor?

The participants were able to ask the speakers all their questions. The discussion was accompanied by specific clinical examples.
