The Amur Regional Clinical Hospital hosted a regional scientific and practical seminar on current fecal-oral diseases, poliomyelitis and enterovirus infection. The event was held in a face-to-face and remote format. The organizers were the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology in the Amur Region, the Department of Infectious Diseases with Epidemiology and Dermatovenereology of the Amur State Medical Academy. The event was attended by more than a hundred specialists in various medical fields.

In the Russian Federation, the proportion of intestinal infections with an established etiology is growing due to the widespread introduction of rapid diagnostic methods. At the same time, the number of group foci and victims in them remains at a high level, and the main group of patients is children in the first years of life. Noro- and rotaviruses prevail among the causative agents of viral intestinal infections," said the teachers of the Department of Infectious Diseases with Epidemiology and Dermatovenereology.

The program of the seminar was opened by the chief freelance specialist in infectious diseases of the Ministry of Health of the Amur Region, Chief Physician of the Amur Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital Elena Sayapina, who spoke about the relevance of the problem. Assistant Professor of the Department Tatyana Dolgikh analyzed the key issues of epidemiology, as well as modern principles of diagnosis and treatment of salmonellosis. Marina Zatevakhina, an infectious disease doctor at the Amur Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital, assistant of the department, devoted her speech to the diagnosis and therapy of acute viral intestinal infections, comparing the provisions of clinical recommendations with real medical practice.
