The scientific and practical conference "Interdisciplinary approach to the management of patients with cardiovascular diseases in combination with COPD (to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Honored Scientist, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor I.V. Landysheva)" was held today in Blagoveshchensk on the basis of the city clinical hospital. It was organized by the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases of the Amur State Medical Academy together with the Amur Branch of the Russian Society of Cardiology and the Far Eastern Scientific Center for Physiology and Pathology of Respiration.

"Today's conference is timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the founder of the therapeutic and cardiology service of the Amur Region, a prominent scientist, an excellent doctor and organizer Iraida Vasilyevna Landysheva. For 28 years, she was the head of the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases. In her work, she paid great attention to cardiology and pulmonology, and that is why we decided to make the combination of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with cardiovascular diseases the topic of today's conference," says Iraida Menshchikova, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Chairman of the Amur Branch of the Russian Society of Cardiology, Head of the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases. - More than 64 million people in the world suffer from chronic heart failure, and the incidence is growing. COPD is also the fourth leading cause of death in the world, and these patients have twice the risk of cardiovascular disease."

The conference was attended by students and residents of the Amur State Medical Academy, as well as doctors of various specialties from Blagoveshchensk and other cities and districts of the Amur Region. Reports were presented on the biography of Iraida Landysheva and her contribution to the development of respiratory medicine, as well as on modern principles of diagnosis and treatment of chronic heart failure in patients with COPD and a number of other issues related to the combination of respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.
