Healthy Children – A Healthy Nation: Results of Winter Health Promotion Meetings with Blagoveshchensk Schoolchildren

A series of educational events dedicated to promoting a healthy lifestyle among schoolchildren has been successfully completed in Blagoveshchensk. The initiative was led by Elena Sundukova, a faculty member of Amur State Medical Academy, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen preventive medicine, public health education, and medical career orientation in Russia.

Since November 2025, nine interactive sessions have been conducted for students in grades 4–6 at Schools No. 5, 10, 13, 14, 16, and 28, as well as at Lyceum No. 11 and Gymnasium No. 25 in Blagoveshchensk. The program focused on developing healthy habits in children, proper nutrition awareness, physical activity culture, and mental well-being support.

Innovative Format for Health Education

According to Elena Sundukova, the sessions were structured using:

  • Interactive quizzes on healthy lifestyle principles
  • Practical tasks reinforcing preventive healthcare knowledge
  • Live discussions about the importance of balanced nutrition and physical development
  • Career-oriented dialogue to stimulate interest in the medical profession in Russia

This format proved effective in consolidating knowledge while fostering early awareness about medical education pathways, including opportunities at Amur State Medical Academy and broader prospects for studying medicine in Russia.

The initiative also emphasizes collaboration between:

  • Educational institutions
  • School health centers
  • Medical professionals
  • Public health organizations

Such integrated efforts are aligned with national strategies aimed at improving child health indicators, adolescent wellness programs, and long-term population health outcomes.

Federal Project “Schoolchild's Health”

The activities were carried out within the framework of the federal project “Schoolchild's Health,” launched in March 2025 by the “Health of the Healthy” movement in partnership with the National Parents' Association.

Key Objectives of the Project:

  • Promotion of public health awareness among children and adolescents
  • Development of a culture of proper nutrition in schools
  • Strengthening physical and mental health protection programs
  • Implementation of modern preventive healthcare technologies in education

Planned Measures Within the Project

The federal program предусматривает:

  • Introduction of modern methodologies for physical education and sports training in schools
  • Organization of educational seminars for parents and students on healthy lifestyle and disease prevention
  • Preventive vision protection programs using domestic innovative technologies
  • Development and implementation of personalized nutrition programs for schoolchildren

Strategic Importance
