First-Year Indian Students Study Histology at Amur State Medical Academy

Students from India began to study a new discipline

First-year students of the Amur State Medical Academy, who came to us to study from India, began to study a new discipline. Now they are frequent guests of the Department of Histology and Biology.

"The guys began to study the course of histology, embryology, cytology. We have two semesters to study this discipline, at the end of which students will take an exam. It is quite difficult for international students to study the discipline, as there are a lot of new terminology for them. Given the language barrier, classes require a lot of preparation - both on the part of the guys and on my part, as a teacher. The first two classes we studied the cell, now we study the embryonic development of a person, a little later we will study tissues and organs. Histology can be called microanatomy, here students study how the human body is arranged at the microscopic level," said Irina Yurievna Sayapina, head of the Department of Histology and Biology.

Students note that the classes, although difficult, are very interesting and thank Irina Yurievna for the opportunity to gain new knowledge.

— My study of cytology, histology, and embryology is progressing successfully. I regularly review the material covered and practice compiling illustrated diagrams to consolidate the knowledge gained. This is a very interesting, albeit difficult subject. Of the difficulties, I would like to note the language barrier, which our teacher successfully overcomes every day," said Kumar Rakhul, a first-year student of group 124.
