Study MBBS in Russia: First-Year International Students Begin Clinical Training | MBBS in Russia for Indian students
The educational practice “Introductory Practice – Practice for Obtaining Primary Professional Skills and Abilities. General Patient Care of Therapeutic and Surgical Profile” has begun for first-year students studying under the English-language program “First Steps into the Profession.” This practical exposure highlights why many international students choose to study MBBS in Russia, especially those planning their journey under Russia MBBS admission 2026.
The head of the practice is Professor Iraida Georgievna Menshikova, Head of the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases. The first lesson of the practice was conducted by Associate Professor Elena Vladimirovna Magalyas from the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases. First-year English-speaking students assisted her during the session.
“Educational practice in the first year at a medical university represents the first steps into the profession. It plays an important role in shaping the professional competence of future doctors. It allows students to immerse themselves in the medical environment and acquire basic practical skills under the guidance of experienced teachers. Today, we discussed organizational matters, introduced students to the rules for filling out medical documentation, and demonstrated the basics of cardiopulmonary resuscitation on mannequins,” said Elena Vladimirovna.
Over the next few days, students will continue their training at the simulation center of the medical academy, practicing skills on phantoms and dummies. This hands-on approach ensures better preparation before moving to clinical training at the Amur Regional Clinical Hospital. To support smooth communication during internships, students were gradually introduced to essential Russian medical vocabulary during language classes.
“In order for international students not to face communication barriers during their internship, we introduced the necessary Russian vocabulary step by step in language classes. To further assist them, second-year students fluent in English will supervise the internship,” said Olga Ivanovna Katina, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.
