First-year students from India began practicing in the departments of the Amur Regional Clinical Hospital | MBBS in Russia for Indian students
First-year students from India began practising in the departments of the Amur Regional Clinical Hospital, marking an important step in their journey of MBBS in Russia for Indian students.
For them, within the walls of the medical institution, an “Introductory Practice – Practice for Obtaining Primary Professional Skills and Abilities. General Care for Patients of Therapeutic and Surgical Profile” has been organized.
Such early clinical exposure highlights why many aspirants choose to study MBBS in Russia, as universities focus on combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on hospital training from the very first year.
“We distributed the students to different departments: the burn unit, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, and vascular surgery. For the first time, the regional hospital accepted foreign students for practice in such numbers. We will help, guide, and show students everything they need as part of their first internship,” said Svetlana Sergeevna Kozenko, Chief Nurse of the Amur Regional Clinical Hospital.
During the internship, students will become familiar with the hospital’s structure and workflow, participate in basic medical manipulations under supervision, and observe how communication between doctors and patients is established. This practical training is one of the key advantages for students planning Russia MBBS admission 2026, as it ensures real-world medical exposure early in their academic journey.
Students Gupta Shivansh and Singh Avnesh Kumar shared why they chose the medical profession and how they have adapted to life in Russia.
“I chose this profession because I want to help people. My father is a nurse in India, and I want to work with him when I return home. Of course, there are communication challenges since we are still learning Russian. An interpreter on the phone helps us,” said Gupta Shivansh.
“My father wanted to become a doctor but couldn’t. Now I want to fulfill his dream. It is very cold in Russia. In India, we also have winter and snow, but minus 10 degrees is considered cold there — here it is much colder,” added Singh Avnesh Kumar.
The beginning of hospital practice not only strengthens their professional skills but also reinforces why MBBS in Russia for Indian students continues to be a popular and rewarding pathway for aspiring doctors.

To make it easier for first-year students from India to practice and communicate with the medical staff and patients of the hospital, they will be supervised by second-year students of the medical academy who have a good command of English.
