Faculty of Pediatrics at Amur State Medical Academy

Doctors are born here, whose hearts beat in unison with the hearts of young patients.

The history of the faculty is full of ups and downs. Having first opened its doors in 1988, it, like a bright comet, existed for only four years. But the hope did not fade, and in 2003 the faculty was revived to declare itself with renewed vigor.

For more than two decades, we have been proud to graduate pediatricians who are ready to stand up for the health of the younger generation. Today, more than 250 inquisitive minds are studying within the walls of the faculty, burning with a desire to help children.

Students learn the basics of medical art in 24 departments, but the heart of the faculty, its soul, is the Department of Pediatrics, headed by Candidate of Medical Sciences Victoria Vladimirovna Shamraeva

Six years of full-time study in the specialty "Pediatrics" is a path full of discoveries and achievements, paved in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standards of the 3rd generation. The peculiarity of our program is a comprehensive study of not only children's diseases, but also the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients of all ages, with special attention to the anatomical and physiological characteristics of the child's body.

For the first three years, students are immersed in the world of humanities, natural sciences, biomedical and clinical disciplines. Starting from the fourth year, they will have an exciting journey into professional fields: "Pediatric Surgery", "Outpatient Pediatrics", "Neonatology", "Psychology of Childhood", "Infectious Diseases in Children", "Endocrinology" and many others.

Theoretical knowledge is supported by educational and industrial practice in medical institutions, starting from the first year, which ensures the continuity and consistency of the formation of professional competencies. The terms, types and duration of internships are strictly regulated by the curriculum.

The academic year, which begins on September 1 and ends in June, is divided into two semesters, each of which ends with an intermediate assessment. In the process of studying, the most talented and purposeful students can be awarded personal scholarships, scholarships of the President or the Government of the Russian Federation, Muravyov-Amursky scholarships, which are paid in addition to the main scholarships.

By entering the first year, you automatically become readers of the library and users of the electronic educational information environment. But studying is not the only thing that a student lives by! You will be able to realize your potential in creativity, sports, science, patriotic and volunteer activities.
