Amur State Medical Academy Administration Meets Second-Year Students to Discuss Campus Development and Career Opportunities
The traditional series of meetings between the university administration and students of different courses continues at the Amur State Medical Academy. Acting Rector Irina Zhukovets spoke about new projects and plans and urged the students not to stay away from the development of their native university.
"If you have ideas, I am ready to support any initiative. On Thursdays, I hold receptions, and now students from the courses where we have already had meetings are actively signing up with their proposals. You can also offer something new to improve your accommodation and education at the Amur State Medical Academy, I will be waiting for you very much. In general, the university is doing a lot of work in all areas. Together with the city administration, we have developed a project for the formation of a youth student environment behind the building of the first dormitory. It is planned to create a zone of social activity for young people there. The third dormitory is equipped with a sports room. The room near the third auditorium has been renovated, an art gallery of the teaching staff will be located here. The premises were renovated by the trustees, our graduates. Each of you can help in filling this exhibition. I know that students brought exhibits for the exhibition "Wartime Medicine". We are also waiting for your active participation here," said Irina Valentinovna Zhukovets.
Irina Valentinovna also spoke about the start of a large-scale project to repair the historical building of the former Molokan prayer house. After the repair, an accreditation center will be located here, which is planned to be equipped with new equipment. Students also learned about plans to build a cardiac surgery clinic on the territory of the Amur Regional Clinical Hospital. When the project is implemented, graduates of the medical academy will have the opportunity to work in a new building with modern equipment.
Vice-Rector for Youth Policy Irina Anatolyevna Berdyaeva told the children about true patriotism and invited each of the students to choose their favorite direction in the field of youth policy.
Vice-Rector for Security Andrey Leonidovich Shelevoy said that the Russian Ministry of Defense has developed a special contract for military service in military positions of a medical profile.
Svetlana Viktorovna Medvedeva, Dean of the Faculty of Postgraduate Education, reminded students that in order to enter residency, you will need to score a certain number of points.
Vice-Rector for Research Irina Andrievskaya spoke about the work of the student scientific society and plans for the development of the scientific direction at the university, invited students to be actively involved in scientific work.
Igor Yuryevich Makarov, Vice-Rector for Continuing Medical Education and Development of Regional Health Care of the Amur State Medical Academy, said that at the end of the third year, students of the medical academy get the opportunity to work in medical organizations as nurses. This provides additional practical skills, financial support, as well as points for admission to residency.
Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Natalia Vladimirovna Loskutova answered the question of students about the provision of textbooks. As Natalia Vladimirovna noted, each student of the academy has unlimited access to electronic library systems, where new textbooks and manuals on the necessary topics are placed. A lost login password can be restored by contacting the library.
Vice-Rector for Administrative and Economic Work Maxim Dmitrievich Tsoi shared plans for repairs in the dormitories and noted that in dormitories No3 and 4 in the summer it is planned to replace heat exchangers, which will ensure an uninterrupted supply of hot water in the showers.
Earlier, similar meetings were held with fourth, fifth, third year students. A meeting with first-year students is scheduled for May 27.
