Anti-Terror Awareness Event Held at Amur State Medical Academy for Third-Year Students
The preventive event "We are against terror" was held by the staff of the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases. More than 100 third-year students took part in it.
In recent years, terrorism has become particularly sophisticated, bloody, and ruthless. Explosions in public places: trains, train stations, restaurants, subways; kidnappings of statesmen, diplomats, party leaders; murders, robberies, and seizures of state institutions, embassies, and airplanes. "New unprecedented areas of terrorism are emerging: air, nuclear, biological, environmental and informational," says Elena Magalyas, associate professor of the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases. "Our task is to tell students how to protect themselves and bring up peaceful values in them."
At the event, students made presentations on what terrorism is, what it can be, how to behave in the event of a terrorist attack, how to provide first aid, as well as on the new weapons of terrorists and responsibility for extremism. Students also watched fragments of the film "Betrayal", which tells about young people convicted of terrorist and extremist activities. Teachers of the department plan to continue organizing events with students dedicated to this topic. They want to hold the next one in early spring.
