Residency admissions in Russia for medical graduates

Residency Admissions Open in Russia for Medical Graduates in 2026

July 1, 2026

Acceptance of documents for state-funded places will last until July 24, for training on a paid basis - until August 3.

"This year, a target quota has been allocated - 104 places for admission to residency. The most popular specialties are anesthesiology-resuscitation, obstetrics-gynecology, general medical practice, cardiology, neurology, pediatrics. There are 40 fee-paying and six state-funded places. Basically, almost the entire residency - about 90% - is the target quota," said Svetlana Viktorovna Medvedeva, Dean of the Faculty of Postgraduate Education, Candidate of Medical Sciences.

The Amur State Medical Academy trains specialists for the Amur Region and other regions of the Far East: the Jewish Autonomous Region, Yakutia, Sakhalin, and the Khabarovsk Territory.

— When entering residency, individual achievements are taken into account: work as a nurse, medical experience, since many enter after several years of work in the specialty obtained at the university. Work in rural areas, in covid times, and other achievements are also taken into account - volunteering, participation in the work of creative and sports teams of the medical academy," notes Svetlana Viktorovna.
