Medical Volunteers held an event dedicated to the World Cancer Day at the Dobrota Center | Russia MBBS admission 2026
World Cancer Day Awareness Event by Amur State Medical Academy Students | Russia MBBS admission 2026
Students of Amur State Medical Academy, members of the All-Russian public movement “Medical Volunteers,” organized an awareness event dedicated to World Cancer Day, which is observed every year on February 4. The event was held at the Blagoveshchensk Complex Center for Social Services “Dobrota.” Amur State Medical Academy is counted among the best medical universities in Russia for medical education and social initiatives.
During the event, students informed elderly participants about the risk factors of cancer, common symptoms, and methods of prevention. They first conducted a short lecture with a presentation explaining what cancer is, how metastasis occurs, how the disease develops, and discussed different types of cancer. After the session, students answered questions and clarified common myths and unverified information related to cancer.
Nationwide Initiative for Cancer Awareness
This awareness campaign, organized in connection with World Cancer Day, is held across all regions of Russia from February 2 to February 8. It is conducted under the National Projects “Youth and Children” and “Long and Active Life.” The program is organized by the Medical Volunteers movement, with support from the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and the National Priorities autonomous non-profit organization.
Such initiatives reflect the strong practical and social training provided at institutions ranked among the top MBBS colleges in Russia, making them attractive for international aspirants, including those interested in MBBS in Russia for Indian students.
Continued Social Work by Medical Volunteers
The Amur branch of the Medical Volunteers holds similar events every year. Last year, students of the academy visited BSPU, AmSU, Polytechnic College, and the College of Construction and Housing and Public Utilities, spreading awareness about cancer prevention and healthy living.
