May 12, 2026

First-year students who came to study in Russia from India are increasingly interested in Russian culture, and this is no coincidence. Studying at the Amur State Medical Academy, they not only gain knowledge in their field, but also strive to better understand the rich history and traditions of our great country.

One of the brightest events, which became a symbol of cultural exchange, was the concert "Spring of Victory", organized by Priest Evgeny Semernya, head of the Department of Culture of the Annunciation Diocese.

This holiday, dedicated to Victory Day, is an important date for all Russians, and students from India gladly took part in this event, which brought together the most talented employees of the regional hospital Maria Landysheva, Olga Shcherbinina, Kristina Bereza, Mikhail Khomenko, as well as famous people of the city of Blagoveshchensk. Evgeny Eremin, an Amur social activist, philologist and author, performer delighted the audience with songs of the war years.

"Patriotic songs were performed at the concert, which evoke pride and inspiration. The guys not only listened, but also performed several numbers themselves, performing songs dedicated to this significant event. Their performance was a real gift for the audience and demonstrated how music can unite people from different countries and cultures. For students, it was not just an opportunity to show their talents, but also a way to better understand the meaning of the holiday for the Russian people. They learned about the courage and resilience shown during the Great Patriotic War, and how important it is to remember history in order to appreciate peacetime," said Olga Ivanovna Katina, Deputy Dean for Work with Students Studying in the English-language program of the Amur State Medical Academy.

The concert "Spring of Victory" became a real bridge between cultures, where Indian students Sah Tejash, Divyansh Patel and Raj Vasundhara were able to contribute to preserving the memory of the heroic pages of the history of Russia. This event once again confirmed that art knows no borders, and friendship between peoples is able to overcome any obstacles.

Priest Svyatoslav Shevchenko, chairman of the family commission of the Annunciation Diocese, altar boy Alexei Cherkashin, sisters of the "Miloserdie" society Natalia Aslanova and Elena Liufa, head of the voice development studio "Melodika" Svetlana Evgrafova with her student Vladislav Glukhov, member of the "Cossack Song" group Lyudmila Dyakova took an active part in the concert.

"We are sure that such events help students from India to understand the Russian people and they will continue to discover the wonderful world of Russian culture! Olga Ivanovna Katina notes.
