Intubation video laryngoscope at Amur State Medical Academy

Amur State Medical Academy Receives New Intubation Training Equipment

August 3, 2026

As part of the contract for the supply of equipment using a targeted subsidy from the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the Accreditation and Simulation Center received an intubation video laryngoscope.

"This device is used in the work of anesthesiologists. It is necessary to restore the patency of the airway during surgical interventions, in particular, in the case of difficult or unpredictable intubation. The Accreditation and Simulation Center purchased this equipment for training residents, as well as anesthesiologists and resuscitators at advanced training courses, emergency doctors at professional retraining and advanced training cycles," said Sergey Vasilyevich Khodus, Head of the Department of Anesthesiology, Resuscitation, Intensive Care and Emergency Medical Care of the Amur State Medical Academy, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor.

The device is designed to visualize the glottis of patients and detect the epiglottis, as well as to examine and examine the upper airway in order to more accurately place the intubation tube. The device greatly facilitates laryngoscopy, and significantly increases the rate of successful intubation on the first attempt, reducing the likelihood of injury to the upper respiratory tract.

Clear visualization improves access to patients' airways due to the thin profile of the blade. The built-in camera with an increased viewing angle displays all the anatomical features of the larynx.
