Fifth-year students of the Amur State Medical Academy took part in the first School of Myopia in Blagoveshchensk
The portal "Organ of Vision" for the first time held a full-time School of Myopia in Blagoveshchensk. The event was held with the support of one of the eye microsurgery clinics of the regional capital of the Amur Region. The audience was ophthalmologists, students of the Amur State Medical Academy and residents of the Amur Region.
The school of myopia has been held as part of the project "Three Portraits of Myopia" for the sixth year. This is a fascinating and useful story about myopia with comments from experts and leading specialists from Moscow and Rostov-on-Don. In Blagoveshchensk, ophthalmologists of the Amur Region also spoke to the audience.
An ophthalmologist, Ph.D., head of the electronic media "Ophthalmological Portal Organ of Vision" Sergey Yuryevich Golubev made a welcoming speech to the audience. Also, the guests of the event were greeted by an ophthalmologist of the highest category, ophthalmic surgeon, Candidate of Medical Sciences, chief freelance ophthalmologist of the Ministry of Health of the Amur Region Dmitry Pavlovich Skachkov.
The School of Myopia discussed theoretical, methodological and applied aspects of psychoophthalmology, modern methods of myopia control, peripheral myopic defocus and myopia control by optical biometrics, and other important topics.
— When we talk about vision, you need to understand that it is formed not only in the eye. By and large, the eye does not see anything, we see with the cerebral cortex, with special fields that are responsible for vision. As part of the project, we fight fears of something unknown. To reduce these fears, we tell all of you what myopia is," said Sergey Yuryevich Golubev.
Students of the Amur State Medical Academy noted the importance of the presented reports and were interested in the School of Myopia not only as ordinary listeners, but also as future doctors.
