Another open day was held today at the Amur State Medical Academy. More than 500 students of grades 9-10 from Blagoveshchensk and other settlements of the Amur Region took part in it.
Acting Rector of the Amur State Medical Academy Irina Zhukovets addressed the guests of the Academy with a welcoming speech:
"Today, a lot of wonderful young people have gathered in our academy. By coming here, you have already demonstrated your desire to connect your life with the profession that does the most important thing – preserving the life and health of people. In our academy, every year there is an increase in students, including from other countries. Therefore, we are waiting for you all with great pleasure. We have contracts with all clinical bases, as well as the Clinic of Cardiac Surgery, where the most complex operations are performed. I can talk about our academy, which I myself graduated from in 1998, for a very long time. And I hope that after graduating from school, you will all come to enroll in us. And each of you will bring something of your own to our academy, and will help us become even better!"
Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Educational Work Irina Berdyaeva told the audience about the rules of admission. She explained in detail what innovations await applicants this year, what benefits exist, spoke about entrance exams, deadlines and rules for submitting documents, and many other issues that interested applicants.
After that, the schoolchildren were divided into groups, and they went on a tour of interactive sites located in different buildings of the Academy. They went on excursions to the Department of Chemistry, the Anatomical Museum, and the Student Scientific Society. At the Department of Histology and Biology, they got acquainted with various animals, were able to examine the preparations through a microscope and learned about the research carried out at the department. At the Accreditation and Simulation Center, they got acquainted with high-tech mannequins and equipment, and also practiced some first aid skills. Members of the Lancet surgical club showed schoolchildren some surgical techniques and nodes, the patriotic club "Challenge" held a master class on the manufacture of dressings and camouflage nets. "Medical volunteers" taught the guests of the academy Nordic walking, and the department of the "Movement of the First" taught cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Recall that on March 27, the medical academy also held an open day for 11th grade students and college graduates. At that time, more than 250 people became guests of the university.
