Amur State Medical Academy Hosts VII Interregional Conference on Preventing Child Abuse
The conference was organized by the Department of Pediatric Diseases of the Amur State Medical Academy and the Student Scientific Society for Pediatrics with the support of the Amur State University, the Amur Regional Institute for the Development of Education, the Amur Branch of the Russian Society of School and University Medicine and Health (ROSHUMZ), the Association of Older People of the city of Blagoveshchensk.
Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Advisor to the Rector for Research and Innovative Development of the Amur State Medical Academy, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Irina Anatolyevna Andrievskaya; Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Amur Region Irina Gennadievna Ptakhin, Chairman of the Association of the Elderly Sergey Aituganovich Utenbergenov addressed the participants of the conference. Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy of AmSU Inna Anatolyevna Makarova shared the results of a special study among preschoolers, which was conducted in the Amur Region, aimed at identifying the psychological comfort of children in families and in preschool education institutions.
The main purpose of the conference was to discuss issues related to child abuse: physical and psychological violence, infringement of his rights and freedoms. The participants discussed the improvement of the medical, pedagogical, socio-psychological approach to families with disharmonious relationships and being at social risk; the problems of maladaptation of children and adolescents in educational institutions, the prevention of orphanhood and child abuse.
Students of the Amur State Medical Academy, AmSU, the Far Eastern Institute of Management (a branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, Khabarovsk), and the Yalta Humanitarian Academy made presentations. A total of 15 reports were made during the conference.
